Mark, this is just a little thank you for ALL the effort it must have taken to post those incredible CO stories from around the world! It took me a loooooong time to read them but I did almost ALL!! I gotta tip the hat, bow down and pass you a case of your favorite adult beverage in respect for the passion and effort. I believe a whole lotta folks became more educated from your thread! And as we all know a whole bunch of us NEED the education! Thanks Dan for the Wall and thanks Mark for the work! you just earned a week in Aruba!!!!

Mark will be part of a special CO Panel Discussion at the ISH-NA meeting in Boston this fall. The final seminar schedule will be published very soon and I'll keep Wallies informed. It will be a "kick-butt" discussion.0 -

Thank you Jeff
I wish there weren't so many, and I do not post every story I receive.
There were 15 people at the CO and Combustion school I attended in Long Island last week. Most were contractors, but there were two people there that have no background in the trades. One was a retired fireman who has seen first hand the bodies of CO victims. This man is going to be getting involved with home inspections and he wanted to be trained in testing for CO and combustion BEFORE he started.
Another was a policeman that frequents The Wall. He is going to start a company that specifically tests homes for CO safety.
To give you an idea of just how ignorant many in our industry are about CO and combustion, I was told by one of the attendees that Burnham boilers DO NOT produce CO, ever.
He then went on to tell me how much CO other boilers will make. He also spent a lot of time sleeping in class.
JAMA says 2100 people die each year from accidental CO poisoning. I say it's probably more like 30,000, and maybe even more.
Contractors don't test and neither do doctors. So for as many unsafe, untested appliances there are out there, there are probably just as many untested CO victims.
I appreciate your kind words, and I will keep posting.
