Be careful..
Squick is a form of floccing agent and not necessary in a clean system. The floculant action allows particulate matter to drop to the boiler base and may form a gel that over time - will become similar to concrete.
The difference in co-efficient expansion may put trememndous "tension" on the boiler "floor" and induce a stress crack!
Lime (calcium carbonate) or "hardness" is similar in physical nature and manufacturer's will void a warranty in most cases. The sediment also settles on the base point where thermal transfer is impeded by virtue of the insulating characteristics of the residual gel and captured particulate turning into to a tenacious solid at the base of the boiler block as a result of the highest heat point being the very bottom of the iron sections.
I would not use Squick on any boiler.

I Don't use
Squick. I prefer SurgeMaster!
and if you are not a Boiler Tech.
You should have an experienced mechanic
look over the unit0
