COMING SOON - THE LIBRARY

We're working with Invision to create The Library, a new area at HeatingHelp.com that will hold many, many pdf files such as the one you see attached here.

My goal is to get much as I can of what's on my shelves and in my files onto this site so that everyone will have access to what I've collected over the past 34 years.

The Library will be free to everyone. You'll be able to view the documents at any hour of the day or night, print them, and use them to your advantage.

As you can imagine, this project is going to take a lot of resources, and if you're able to help by buying a brick or two (from the link at the top of the Wall), I'd really appreciate it. The more support we can get from you, the quicker we'll be able to make this happen.

Thanks for all that you do for us. We really appreciate your support.

Onward!
Retired and loving it.

As a free & accepted Mason,

I should be entitled to lay a few of those bricks - right?

    So Dan?

So are you going to fill this library with up to date literature from manufacturers and their products as well as older things like that Veco?

    Just a thought, Mark.

Make sure you have the current version of Adobe Acrobat Reader (6.0.1 I believe). Steamhead just had a problem with opening a pdf file from the wall and when he upgraded from 4.0 to 6.0 it worked fine.

    Hope it helps.

If they share them with us,

I will. There are copyright issues, though, and that may keep them from sharing.

    Here's another

This is from The Philosophical Transactions of the Royal Society of London, 1745. This is the first-ever reference to steam heating in a book. I've scanned it from the original.

    Thanks for your support, lads.

    Dan,
That is a fantastic idea. You just cant find that information anywhere else. It goes to show what an impact you have on peoples lives. You come along and ask for a few bricks which your loyal followers gave no questions asked. And now you are following through with your promise. There are not many businesses that can ask their customers for a additional capitol to grow. And if they did they probably wouldnt get it.

I have been waiting to decide on what I was going to order next before sending my brick. I should have just ordered the super size from the get go. So I guess my order and brick is on the way.
    Thanks for all you do

All that money's going right back into the site. We're biting off a big one here to start, but I think it will be a great resourse for everyone who visits here. Thanks.

Maybe you will be able to get permission from PM magazine to put my article which will be in the April 04 issue on cleaning and treating hydronic systems.

If not I would be happy to write a variation just for the library. Let me know if you need my help. We want to give you all the support we can.

I know for sure that they have copyright issues. Love to post it, though.

    I will ask

after it is published. But if not allowed, I will just write a different version on the same topic. Cross that bridge after April.

Are you downloading it in 2 steps.

When I download it I check of the box saying use Adobe download manager. Which will download it to a file which I put on the desktop, but it won't say Acrobat reader yet. It's a bright red icon with a triangle in it (I believe). Then you open that file and the Adobe download manager will open up and download the reader.

    Hope it helps.
  • Dan a great idea

I have to think about how I may contribute to this library with out messing up my copyright issues. I will talk to you about it at Wetstock.
