Hot Water Heater for Radiant and Domestic
Trevor
Member Posts: 1
My heating contractor wishes me to install a domestic hot water heater to handle domestic water and radiant floor heating (to heat the slab to 72 degrees only). He is combining this with the Carrier MPV gas furnace. He is recommending a 50 gallon 65000 Btu GSW but I'm not sure of the model. The house is a 3 bedroom, 2 inhabitant, 1600 sq foot ICF bungalow. Wondering if there are specific features I should be looking for in a hot water heater to handle my needs?

Ditto. Fresh water has lots of oxygen. It will eat up anything it can. The fresh water entering your water heater promotes corrosion. It won't harm the copper or stainless or bronze on the domestic side. This is done often but is not the best way.0 -
