Re: CO again post
I will send an e-mail as well to that reporter.
What a classic case of ignorance!
Here's one for you.
About a month ago there is TOP news story locally. "Woman found frozen to death in Glenville home!"
She lived about 2 miles from where I grew up. The original story had her dying due to hypo-thermia. Not so fast!
After more detective work, the authorities found phone records of calls to HVAC contractors requesting service work for a "heating problem".
The womans death was later ruled "natural causes" as she was 57 years old.
Sounds good so far eh'? (A little Canadian lingo there!)
So explain this to me. Also mentioned was the fact that "several" of her pets were ALSO found dead in the house! Not ALL, SEVERAL. I guess they died of natural causes too??????
I e-mailed a bunch of folks about that too and have gotten no response.
These folks are gonna' LOVE phase 3.
Keep testing folks! Your customers lives depend on it!

Coffee with a cop and fireman
I have coffee a couple of times a week with a local cop and his buddy who is a fireman. I have a lot of fun with them on the subject of incidents in the home. They have admitted to me that thier training on Carbon Monoxide outside of testing the air and evacuation is nill. I ask the cop this question, How many times have you entered a building that people have passed out or are dead? Next question after his answer of many times. Did you test the environment before entering? How do you know if there is CO in that dwelling? Ignorance will kill you every time.
I was asked by an investigator one time when I arrived at a house that people had been removed for suspected CO poisioning. He asked me do you think there are dangerusly high levels of CO in this house, as he and four others had already entered the house and they were talking to me out of an open window. My answer was no, how do you know he replied, you have not even entered the building. My answer "all of you are still standing so the levels can not be that high." You should have seen the look on his face. I am amazed at how ignorant even first responders are.0
