Anyone have suggestions on a good steel panel radiator?
Myson,Veha,Buderus any good or bad experiences with these products?
Any leak problems with the European pipe threads.

    Buderus

We have been using Buderus panel rads for many years, and I have NEVER had any problems with them.

Throw the thermostatic valves on and you "zone" every panel! Now put the system on constant circulation with outdoor reset and sit back and enjoy AFFORDABLE comfort!

When I build a home, you can count on there being panel rads in it!

    Hope this helps!

    DiaNorm

check out www.heatlines.com. They distribute DiaNorm panel rads...nice, clean, and come with thermostatic as part of base package which is nice.

    I've used

Buderus, Radson, Myson and Vasco. The paint didn't hold up to well on the Myson units but that was about 6-7 years ago. They've probably improved since. I really like the Radson line for it's value, good quality at a good price. Hook up with Hydronic Alternatives to find a dealer or distributor near you. H-A also carries the complete Oventrop line of TRV's and other accessories to go with their rads. Good people to work with. I recommend them highly!!

Buderus has held up very well and the Vasco line is in the Cadillac of the industry category. They have a very broad line of custom looking radiators. The Vasco's are also available at Hydronic Alternatives.

    BTW

In regards to sealing the 1/2" BST on all of the above rads. We had problems when we first started installing European radiators. Seeping, dripping, drooling, and all that happy stuff. We used your typical Hercules/Rectorseal/Jomar dope. Tried teflon based dope. Tried Permatex.... (brings back memories of a ruined carpet) None of the above were 100% satisfactory.

We now use a couple wraps of heavy teflon (be careful to keep it back from the end of the threads) and then a light smear of LeakLock sealant. We haven't had a leak in the last three years using these particular products and methods. I wouldn't worry about it.
