I'm looking for a Simple electronic immersion type aquastat
with outdoor reset for a storage tank for a geothermal
system. Operating temps. are 90-125 degrees.I'd like to find something other than a Honeywell electro-mech.type &
less $ & complicated than a Tekmar.After having installed
a dozen geothermal/radiant systems, I've now lived with my own for a year & for the first time in my life I actually look forward to getting my utility bills!-Dirk

Try the Honeywell AQ series...
We have 3 models, the AQ475, that does reset by varying the boiler run time, the AQ675, that uses a 3 way mixing valve, and the Aq775, that can operate an injection pump or a 4way valve. All are completely electronic, and available from any Honeywell distributor. Go to http://hbctechlit.honeywell.com and type in the numbers for complete free tech sheets.0 -
Hi Bill-Simple @ immersion are the key items ie there's no mixing involved. The AQ475 could work although it has alot more bells than i want, what is it's list $. Regarding the old electro-mech immersion type aquastat w/ o.d. reset-how accurate are current models & how long are the outdoor probe lead?0 -
WhiteRodgers Mechanical OTR
May be a choice... It's not expensive.0 -
Our host's policy is...
not to discuss prices. Our wholesalers set their own pricing, anyway. Check out your local hydronic-oriented wholesaler, and they will be happy to quote you a price. The AQ475 doesn't require a valve or other accessories( sensors are included), and so would cost less that buying a AQ675, 3way valve, actuator and other accessories and making the piping changes needed. Equivalents are not available at retail on controls like this. Sensor lenght varies with the model you choose on the T678, T991 or T475, for example, the T675B1006 has a 10' indoor cap tube, outdoor cap is 30'. See the tech sheets for the others. These are electro mechanical controls, +- 2 degrees either way is about average, the electronic models are +-1 degree.0 -
Check out a Tekmar 256 or other \"simpler\" controls
from Tekmar. Its not complicated, and you will be surprized how cheap they are.
