Foley, Riles and Hayden - oh my! (PAH)

A return to the scene of the crime? Can it be a year already since this, the fastest growing chapter of the RPA began? My how time flies.

Tonight, Gary Hayden regaled all with tales of things to come (he's just back from a fact-finding hydronic jaunt into the heart of Europe)in all things hydronic. The lad can see into the future and assured us it is good. He speaks with a twinkle in his eye and you can't help but be uplifted.

The crown was passed from Dan Foley to King Riley tonight & he's promosed heads will roll if hydronic strides stall in the US - especially in the WA/VA area. Nice to see Waco Wayne once again too.

The WA/VA chapter is doing things right by having excellent speakers tantalize their members with one-of-a-kind tidbits and things learned first-hand. You can't buy this kind of knowledge - and yet - here's a guy like Gary willing to share his vast expertice with perfect strangers. Next up is none other than the Bean himself! Tough act to follow Robert, but Gary gave you an excellent lead-in.

And a special thanks to Jay Middleton of T. Somerville who transported me to & from the meeting. Good food, cold refreshments, an eye opening talk and great company - it doesn't get any better than that.

If you ever go - watch out for Black Flag in the parking lot. My hair is still standing on end!

Had a wonderful time hobknobbing with my good radiant friends, and eating snd drinking instead of going home to listen to my teenagers fight. (This house aint big enough for the 2 of them) It was not a hard decision to go. Gary had facinating stuff to show us and his low key dry wit humour kept things interesting. When do I get to graduate to a postion where I can travel to Europe and research radiant heat. Jeff Riley is already a great RPA president, and rumour has it he is closely related to the Energiser Bunny. In between helping set up for the meeting he was delivering radiant parts to myself and another contractor out of the trunk of his car in the parking lot. Whew! Good to see Dave Yates who made the long haul down to VA. from PA. I see his Post was 12:12 AM. Dave you must have just gotten home. See you at Wetstock 4. WW

    RPA-WAC

The RPA Washington DC Area Chapter had another great turnout last night. A special thank you to Gary Hayden who drove up from Norfolk to be our guest speaker. Gary is a true friend and supporter of the RPA.

How about Dave Yates (PAH) gracing us with a surprise visit from York, PA? Great to see you again, Dave

Best wishes to our 2004 chapter President, Jeff "Riles" Riley.

Here are some photos of Gary Hayden hard at work sharing his wealth of knowledge with our membership. -DF

PS Through Gary's quick thinking and leadership, we were able to raise an additional $400 for the Avon Walk for Breast Cancer.

    Class act

It was not only GARY HAYDEN's "Quick Thinking & Leadership" that lead to contributions of over $400 to support Christy's challenge through the "Avon Walk for Breast Cancer" but HIS GENEROSITY as he financially lead the charge.

We are also in debt to Gary for giving freely of his time. Our enthusiastic group of RPA-WAC really enjoyed Gary's sharing of european approaches to hydronics.

The surprise visit by DAVE YATES & chauffeur Jay Middleton (Thos. Somerville York, PA) was outstanding. In our brief existence Dave was our first alumni guest speaker to return to support our efforts.

With ROBERT BEAN scheduled to speak on April 21st and instruct in a seminar on April 22nd, the RPA-WAC continues to move forward providing contractors an opportunity to expand their understanding of the Radiant Floor Heating and hydronic business.

Robert Bean, by the way, has insisted in contributing 10% of his fee to support the "Avon Walk for Breast Cancer" on behalf of Christy.

    Thanks to all involved,

    Jeff "Riles" Riley

    RB comes to Washington

Jay Middleton (a.k.a. PAH personal chauffer and also a very nice guy) (Thos. Somerville York, PA) will need 40 hours with minimal stops (bathroom and drive thru with no wait) and will travel 2365 miles or 100 gallons of gas at 23 mpg to pick up RB and bring him in for the RPA-WAC seminars. Then Jay has to do the same on the return trip, plus the distance from York to DC, another 2.5 hours and 175 miles. Maybe PAH will help do some of the driving from York to DC? Then guess what - RB has to go back.

So total trip for Jay will be 10,000 miles, 400 gallons of gas and 160 hours (we all understand the hours part the best!)

All kidding aside - RB will be flying!! And you can to after you attend his seminars. You can also see the commitment RPA-WAC has made to bring him in. So clear your schedule - springtime weather should free up some of the trouble calls.

You must not have seen Jay drive...........

The cops just say "What the heck was that thing?" cause their radar can't put out numbers that high! No wonder delivery times from TS are so short. He makes Black Flag look like an old lady out for a Sunday drive(G).

So, if you've time to spare - go by air. Otherwise go with Jay & buckle up.

Yes indeed, Bean is coming to Washington

Man what a great start.....RPA-WAC not yet one year old.

What a list of previous speakers: Dave Yates, Dan Holohan, John Siegenthaler, Gary Hayden.

    On deck ROBERT BEAN.

Mark your calenders membership dinner meeting April 21st & Seminar April 22nd.

We made sure to leave 3-1/2 days after WETSTOCK IV (April 17th) so we all have time to recover.
