That is all I use on new installs and I don't have any air problems, I think they work very well as long as your near boiler piping is done correctly.

    absolutely

I use them ALL the time. There are others making similar products also. Massive improvement in air elimination.

Is there a direction of flow on those?

    either way

and the vent seal is dry, unlike a float vent which is wet, and we know how long those last :)

Just curious why you don't want an air scoop.?

We still use them a lot and sometie on the bigger ones we install a spirotop (1/2") in the top of it.
Have you had problems with air scoops.?

Wish they had a sweat version :)

and they are a bugger to clean the top end. But they do perform very well.

Make sure your ph is on. I have seen the wire cage inside, from agressive fluid attack, unwind and pieces get into the circs.

You got to hold it over....

your head so that little wre hangs striaght down...then get that little ity bity wire to find the hole...:-)

For me....the way they purge a system is awessome!!!
The Spirovent and the Vortech seem to work pretty much equally great. Just recently started up a system with 8,000 ft of tubing and ran nary a drop of water to the drain. Purged that tubing clean in no time!!!! Of course the way the system is piped is critcal also, so it can be purge effectively.

    Spirovent

Every job big or small gets one. Better than other brands that use a float vent on top to vent out air.

B & G's new sweat air separators are second to none and are very reasonably priced.
