Question for Bill W.

Bill, I'm working on an update/upgrade project for a school where they are considering going to a DDC type system. The room temp controller that the local Honeywell distributor has suggested is the W7763 series. Is there an occupancy sensor available for this control or does it run simply off the occupied-unoccupied program on the network controller? Their concern is what happens when a given room is in setback and it becomes occupied for some reason. This would be situations that do not normally occur like parent teacher conferences or other events that take place outside the normal time schedule.

Thanks,
Steve

    Bill, other notes

The system being proposed uses a W7760A2011 XL15 building manager and ZL7762A1000 software. The XL10 DDC controllerwill actuate a VCZML6100 valve in the hydronic system.

    Howzzat for alphabet soup??!!

Yeah,Steve, we love our acronyms & long part numbers.

The answer is yes, you can override the setbacks, and to do so you need the T7790 wireless wall module plus a Q7790 Receiver or a Q7791A repeater. Once programmed, all you do is press the button on the control, and a pre-set time override 1 hour, 3 hours, whatever goes into effect. You also will need to make allowances for that in the software when the system is programmed. The authorized distributor, ACS contractor or ACI contractor is responsible for this line. I'll drop you the name & phone number of your local rep via email, this is a specialized product line, and only a few distributor/contractors have access to. I'm not involved in this line myself, but my counterpart who is says that this system is an excellent choice for schools.
