Does anyone have experience with the Baxi boiler. It is a self-contained wall hung gas boiler with a plate heat exchanger for domestic. Just wondering if anyone has any feedback.

    BAXI

Yea - I bought one and it works great. Make sure that if you use the combi - check out the hardness of the water and make sure that 3.5 gpm (or so) will work for you.

I bought it from www.houseneeds.com - they are vey good people. Talk to Gary about the Baxi.

Let me know if you need any other info.

    Baxi UK

Baxi I think ? is still a UK company.
Yes a lot of boilers installed here in the UK are of this design. They are called Combi boilers - they are best fitted in small homes or flats. The only problem with this type of boiler is the hot water production - to produce a temp rise of 35*C (95*F) for hot water these boilers have a very large output 28/30KW (93 - 100,000 BTU). But if you install a boiler & an indirect hot water tank, the boiler can have half that size.
I hope this is of some help.
    Regards.

    hint

the avg shower is 2.5gpm - so for a real house, you
need an indirect hot water holding tank with a pump

We've installed about half a dozen of them and have had no callbacks; nice units that can handle a medium hydronic load (~100,000 BTU input).

Their combi boiler will provide you minimal (3.5 gpm) DHW which limits you to using one fixture at a time. So you can take a shower and use the sink, but not at the same time.

    UK Showers

    Kal.
For the watering cans we fit here in the UK the stated flow rate is only 0.1 Ltr/Sec I think that's about 6 Ltr/Min (1.3gpm UK).
Ever had a shower in the UK?? you got to dance around a bit to get wet !

    take a shower in

"the land of warm bear and cold w..." (shhh, there might be ladies listening) - naah - I’ll just keep my Yankee what'cha'mc'all'it home

the shower flow, is actually supposed to be something like that over here too, but all my customers take the restrictors out, they are all wrench turners and give me endless grief - i am getting a digital camera so that i can take pictures of how i leave a job - it's getting out of hand
