Dan's article about D.C. heating
makes me wonder how the White House is heated today ?

It had one of the
earliest steam systems in America. It no longer does.
Back when I first wrote The Lost Art, a reporter interviewed me for a consumer magazine article. I told her about the early steam system in the White House. She called there to ask what sort of heating system they had today and was put on hold. The next thing she knew, she had the Secret Service on the phone, and they had a LOT of questions for her.
The article never made it into her magazine.
Fun memory, though. ;-)Retired and loving it.0 -
That's funny
Heat in The White House is top secret . I guess theoretically you can get to someone through steam vents .
C'mon Dan , get on the Hotline - I heard you're a good buddy of Dubya's .0 -
No way!
I saw what happened to that reporter. ;-)Retired and loving it.0
