Hot water supply

I have a one pipe steam system with a tankless hot water supply. I have found that we run out of hot water quickly especially when the burner is fired up to supply the radiators. Is there a correlation? Is there something that I can do to prevent this from happening (other than taking shorter showers)?

most definately...
when the boiler is steaming the coil is less submerged ie. less of the coil is transfering heat to the domestic. Solutions lower your flow rate out, install a seperate or a water heater off the boiler below the h2o line. You could also install a booster tank but the indirect is your best shot...kpc
