-The 4900 Series Removes Both Air and Dirt
Using Patented PALL Ring Technology-
Cranston, RI, January, 2004 - Taco, Inc. has introduced a highly efficient scrubber system separator that removes air and dirt in hydronic systems. The new Taco 4900 Series scrubber saves money and energy, and reduces equipment wear by clearing system components pipes, pumps and associated equipment of microbubbles, sand dirt and rust.
The 4900 Series scrubber has been designed and constructed to ASME code standards; specifically to Section VIII of the ASME code. It employs European-proven PALL ring technology that will remove microbubbles as small as 18 x10-6m from the system along
with dissolved air and solid particles.
PALL Technology, long used in the European processing industry to mix or separate gases from liquids, is a new technology to the U.S. hydronic industry and, as such, is patented.
Taco offers two versions of the 4900 Series: Series 4900-A models clean the system of free air and microbubbles; Series 4900-AD models remove both air and dirt from hydronic heating systems or chilled water systems. Extensive field-testing has shown that the PALL rings inside the 4900-AD air and dirt separator are highly effective in separating solids from system fluids. 4900-AD models have been designed with an enlarged bottom on each separator to provide a non-turbulent zone for effective particle removal.
Both 4900 Series system scrubbers should be installed in a system immediately before the centrifugal pumps; by doing so, large air bubbles and system impurities are removed before they can damage the pumps.
Taco has a product specification brochure available on the 4900 Series that provides pressure drop and dimensions and weight charts. To obtain a copy, call Taco at 401.942.800 or visit the companys web site at www.taco-hvac.com.
Headquartered in Cranston, RI since 1954, Taco, Inc. is an ISO 9001-registered manufacturer of heating and cooling components for use in hydronic systems. The company supplies a full range of high quality and dependable products for residential, commercial and industrial applications worldwide.

Filtration
I always like including filtration, especially on higher gallon systems. If it's priced for the residential market this could be bigger than wags. If only the web site actually had information on the 4900...... Dan
