Very clogged steamer

The homeowner was told a few years ago that this boiler should be replaced as soon as possible . Well , the inevitable happened - it finally crapped out in wintertime . The pic is after the asbestos abatement crew was in . I forgot to take pics of the clogged passageways in the boiler , but I have one of the external coil - real caked up .

with our burner of choice now for these boilers - the Beckett and matching cover . Very quiet .

We had a little problem - couldn't get the system to run for a bit . Finally tracked it down to the pressuretrol . Can you believe that the little glass tube didn't come with mercury in it ? First time I've seen that . Otherwise , the system worked great , no bangs no pings....... so far .

    cover

What's the part number and cost of that cover, and how well does it cut the noise? Service a small house with no insulation between floors, and burner is a tad noisy.

comes as a package deal from Burnham , if you buy the Beckett .

Charlie Masone from Beckett told me they make their own style cover for their burner too .

The difference in noise between a Riello F5 and the Beckett is dramatic . The Beckett is much more quieter . If you can run the oil line through a small hole in the front of the cover , and close off the big hole in the bottom , it makes the burner even quieter .

Maybe Charlie from Beckett and Glenn from Burnham can give you some more info on part numbers and supply houses that stock these burners and covers . Take care Fred .
