    While

Find an Insurance agent and get some quotes.
Do not stop with one agent. Insurance is one of those things where if your not in the "Biz" its hard to understand and compare. Best Wishes J.Lockard

    start

with plugging in what you do know. your cost for a truck, tools , your salary, advertising , yellow pages, cell phone, etc. Then get quotes for what you don't. I can tell you a familly health plan in mass will run you 750$ a month minimum! Your costs will probably be much higher than you imagine them to be. Many guys start by simply doubling what thier boss payed them If you do that you won't even be close probably not even half way there.

    starting a business

I'm on my third business and I can send you this advice. Do your homework.....FIRST....then put together your team: banker, lawyer, CPA(don't try this without one), insurance agent and mentor. Then put together a business plan, projecting out at least five years. When you know all your costs, both tangible and intangible, then and only then, make your decision to do it or not, and stick with it. You'll spend at least a few grand just to get to the point of making that decision, but it will be well worth the expense, even if you decide not to do it. Why? Because it will save you bundles if you start a business from scratch without a plan and a management team in place.
    Good luck.
