Venting

I have two mains and was wondering if I should put faster vents or maybe two vents on the radiators that are at the end of those mains. I was getting a lot hissing when the vents opened up after heating the radiators. Already vented the mains at the return with two Gorton #2's on each one. I have been plagued with hammer that has gone from mid to end to beginning cycle. I recently went back to square one and I'm going over and adjusting the pitch on the returns and already have noticed an improvement. Thanks Ed

Sometimes you have to do that
but when you fix all those little problems, you'll have a great system!
Try to avoid over-venting your radiators. This can cause banging since the steam will rush up the runouts and risers so fast that the water won't be able to drain back.
For vent sizing info, get Dan's "Dead Men's Steam School" video and workbook.
