Chimney sizing for oil

don't work on oil, but have a customer who has an existing masonry chimney on an oil furnace rated at 119000 btu's. He's adding a 2nd story to his house and the existing masonry chimney isn't tall enough. I was thinking of running vent pipe upp the chimney but it may not be wide enough. To extend the masonry chimney is a problem because an offset is need because of the peak of the new roof line. First I need to size the chimney. Does it correlate in any way to Gas chimnsy charts? Thanks for any help. WW

    Just by chance

our local RE michel supply house had an Air Jet Chimney manufacturer rep giving a demo today. He had charts for oil and everything. He recommended using a 5" stainless steel flexi liner up to the top of the existing masonry chimney and then adapting it to L type double wall vent with stainless inner tube. The last section to go through the roof was recommended to be stainless on the outside and inside tubes. Sometimes you just get lucky and bump into an answer in your normal cycle of chores. WW

Z-Flex has a liner slide calculator

for oil. It too is probably available from RE Michel, or call Z-Flex. Can't rememeber their 800 number, sorry!
