Wirsbo Promix

Three years ago we had a pretty large commercial job. It had 13 boilers and 31 zones. All slab on grade, very nice. It was in the Spec for a 3-way proportinal valve and outdoor-reset. I was all to thrilled to have the Promix 101 from Wirsbo, especially when I landed the job. This is the older series that was made for Wirsbo my the Erie company.

The Erie co was bought out by (?) the Invensys corporation and supposably has replacement "pop-top" modulating actuaters and 3-way valves. I can not find replacements to save my life. I have two controllers that are acting up and need replacements for.

The new Promix 101 control is made for Wirsbo by Tekmar, and the proportional valve is now made by Belimo. They are also very nice, but they are not compatible with the older series equipment. Meaning, old actuator will not work in conjuction with new valve and vice-versa.

Anyone have any of these old style actuators in stock? Want to get rid of them? One had a blue pop-top actuator, the other one that is bad had the older "tin" pop-top actuator. Thanks in advance for any and all help.

I haved called, faxed, and talked to tech assist at the Invensys co. No help to speak of.

Regards,

PR

    Wirsbo

Contact Wirsbo about them,Tim Duran was able to help me out with one a while back. That was a while ago, they all may be gone now.In any case you may be better off switching to the new model as I'm sure if you do find one replacement won't be available forever.

    Wirsbo ProMix

I had an unfortunate incedent while "improving" my system, which consisted of the ProMix 101 and the 3-way valve by Erie.

My suggestion is to go with the Invensys equipment, also I think Honeywell has an identical valve to the Invensys.

I looked over both units (Erie tin top and Invensys Blue top), the Invensys unit looks to have the same or similar port size (and Cv). You also have the advantage of replacing the actuator and circuit board, if required, I don't know if Erie had this option. (One down-side is the elimination of the LED's on the old Erie which helped with troubleshooting.)

I can send you the web address for the Invensys valve ordering data if you want to look it over. Email me if you want it.

    Good Luck
