Can you install recessed lighting in the ceiling with radiant tubing without worrying about overheating the lights?

Recessed Lighting
My opinion...
The radiant tubes wouldn't be the worry, the insulation and lack of airflow around the fixture would be. Use only those recessed lighting fixtures that are rated for use directly against insulation. I'd be more worried about heating the radiant tubing. Light fixtures can get pretty hot.0 -
there are commercial buildings out there that are designed this way. you must be very cautious in your selection for obvious reasons.0 -
hey PO
i think that most, if not all pex manufactures, have now stated that their tubing must be at least 12" away from "pot lights" or an appropriate non-combustible insulation must be used, and extend at least 12" on either side of the fixture. or so says our local plumbing inspectors!!!
