whirring(?) noise coming from burner. Motor dying?

Our furnace randomly makes what sounds like a whirring noise (almost like a unlubed bearing) from the burner area of the furnace. It's a domestic hot water furnace with a coil for the hot water as well as the convection outlets on the baseboard.
I've looked at the motor and I found a sticker that states to oil the motor every x years depending on use. The only openings I have found on the motor are a small hole (approximately 1/8" in diameter) and then a small red button. The hole appears to be near the upper end of the motor casing where a bearing would be. Is there a way to verify this? What's the best oil to use? Can I use the 3in1 oil that comes in a squeeze can?
Would a failing oil pump make a similar noise? It's hard to tell if it's coming from the motor side or the pump side. When it's doing this, it sounds as though the combustion isn't as clean. Thanks.

Noise
There should be two oil holes on the motor. On both ends. The button it a thermo over load buttom.(it pops and the motor stops if it gets hot) . 3in 1 make a electric motor oil you can use , it comes in a blue can.You can use a sae 30 weight..
The oil pump can make that noise too . It will tell me that restriction is on the oil supply .Dirty filters or plugged oil line.0
