Furniture near radiator

What's the minimum number of inches I need between a radiator (with a radiator cover) and a sofa?

There's no danger
A steam radiator will get no hotter than 220 degrees, F., and that's too cool to start a couch on fire. It won't even burn paper. Remember the book, "Fahrenheit 451"? Ray Bradbury was writing about the flash point of paper - 451 degrees, F., or about twice as hot as the hottest steam heating radiator.
It will burn your skin, though. But only once. ;-)Retired and loving it.0 -
how about for proper circulation
Is there a proper distance in order to allow proper air flow/circulation around the radiator?0 -
I'd say
1-1/2 to 2 inches. Be the air.Retired and loving it.0 -
That is what I was thinking
As I was being the air, I figured at least a couple of inches. Thanks Dan.0
