cast iron baseboard

I can get a whole pile of weil mcclain cast iron baseboard radiation at a good price. Problem is that its about 25 years old and used. They have been stored in a barn. 2,3, and four foot pieces. There is more than enough for the house that I am re-doing for myself.
I understand that these pieces need to be pressed together. Has anyone had any experience working with this used radiation? Am I asking for trouble?
I know that the cast iron is terrible expensive compared to copper finned but it sure is nice. I have the cast iron in the house that I am living in now.
I am a contractor but not in heating. I'll have a regular boiler guy help me on the project.
