CALCULATING RADIATOR WATER VOLUME

You can drain down the system in to a 5 gallon bucket and tally up how many buckets. Or you can slowly add the chemical until you reach the desired solution.

Calculation of System Water Volume
I have just finished installing a Weil Mc Lain Ultra 105 boiler and I need to calculate the water volume to adjust the PH up to the WM Ultra specs. I have 3" pipes and 5 tube CI radiators. If someone could give me the formulias I will be able to apply them to my specific measurements.
The Ultra has been running since Jan.6 thru some of the coldest weather of recent years (2 degrees) here in the Atlantic City, NJ area. Even with the high temp limit set for 160 it has maintained temp. With the Ultra set at 160 it is a little slow to recover from a night setback from 70 to 65 so on the coldest days I hold the temp at 68 until the weather moderates and it works GREAT!! I have a calculated 58,000 heat loss.
Thanks
