Water level rising now...

A little while back I was having problems with water draining out of my boiler tank -- this turned out to be because the boiler was running at too high a pressure and pushing steam out of the system. Since this was fixed the heat has been working very well, better than at any time since we moved in; but a curious problem has arisen. We started out with the water about 3/4 the way up the glass gauge. A few days later it was close to the top of the gauge. I noticed it and drained about 1/2 gallon out to return it to the proper level. Every couple of days when I check it, I see it is back up near the top of the glass! I am not putting any water in this whole time. Is it possible that the high pressure had been forcing water/condensate to stay in the pipes, and that it is now draining slowly back down to the boiler tank? This seems a little unlikely to me but it is the only way I could see the extra water coming in. Or is there a drip in the valve that I use to add water to the tank? How could I tell that?

more water
If you have a separate water heater and not a boiler coil then that can't be the source, and if you don't have an auto feeder that neither, I think your manual fill valve is leaking through, it's cheap, I would just replace it. You could cut the outlet of the valve and put a bucket under what you think is a closed valve for a test.0
