Thermastats

Who knows of a simple [low cost] thermostat to use to close a automag zone valve? I need about 65 of them so cost is an issue. Thanks, Jerry

Aren,t those dc valves and if i remenber those valves aren,t cheap. When that dc reticfer goes all your valves will be open.I believe those are powered closed valves i think the t/stat won't be a bargain either good luck been years since i had to play with them thank god do they have a manual open stem on the bottom?

    Automag

They open on power failure. We can use a regular T87 on them now .Haven't needed rectifier for years.I've used them off and on for 30 yrs. Can't think of a callback. Jerry

are perhaps only ones making a valve specifically designed to be piped in-line with a baseboard and such ilk - for all you know he is doing just that

now as for a thermostat - use any cheap one, with heating and cooling, or even just cooling!, and wire the automag to the cooling side to power the valve to closed, when the space warms up - and of course wire all the automag's NC (they open up when the unit is powered) switches together in parallel with the boiler through them - so when they are all powered (ie closed) - the boiler goes off, but if any one is not powered the boiler is called for - real simple
