mclean boiler by pass piping specs

Have been looking for mcleans specs on there site and have had no luck any help would be great .Is there any calculation or formula other then full size with a baal or globe and as i was always told to control or adjust flow a globe is the only valve to use have i been tricked ,i've always noticed that with a globe i hear no velocity noises .Any suggestion would be appreciated

ball valves versus globe valves for throttling
In a ball valve that's partially closed, the flow developes some high velocity points that may cause enough noise to be a bother. In addition these points will suffer increased erosion or wear. After some time, (years) the valve will probably not privide a tight shut-off.
The globe-type design valve body directs the flow more evenly through the port and around the disc and stem. (even if the valve is partially closed).
Primary/Secondary connections and boiler by-pass piping should always be full-size.0
