New FREE software download

Come and get it guys and gals...

The Area & Volume Calculator is a simple and efficient software tool for calculating the area of surfaces and the volume of rooms. Such calculations are needed for proper estimating of room and building heating loads.

The Area & Volume Calculator allows uses to select from several shapes icons such as rectangles, triangles, and semicircles. An enlarged view of the selected shape then appears along with fields for entering dimensions in feet and inches. The area is instantly calculated, and can be easily added or subtracted from other previously calculated areas. Similar capabilities are provided for volume calculations.

The area or complex shapes can be determined by breaking them into two or more simple shapes and allowing the program to add or subtract the individual areas as necessary. For example, the area of a trapezoidal-shaped wall containing three circle-top windows could be quickly determined using this approach.

The Area & Volume Calculator will run on Windows 95, 98, 2000, and XP operating systems, and includes an online help system as well as print screen capability.

The Area & Volume Calculator was created by Mario Restive and John Siegenthaler who also developed the Hydronics Design Studio, a complete design assistance tool for hydronic heating designers. The Area & Volume Calculator is available as a free downloadable file at www.hydronicpros.com.

How about a module with conversion factors and formulas?

Something along the lines of the Burnham Heating Helper, or a scaled down Pocket Reference.

    thanks for the downloads

The first 24 hours after posting the availability of the free Area and Volume calculator software saw quite a bit of activity. Even had people in New Zealand downloading it.

This software can quickly help you estimate wall, ceiling, and floor areas even when the shapes are complex. Besides heat load estimating, you might even want to use it to figure out how much drywall, wallpaper, or paint you need to finish a wall.

If you haven't taken a look at this free design tool yet check it out at www.hydronicpros.com

about 4,000 user sessions per day now. That's up from 2,500 a year ago.

    Happy to keep you busy!
