Munchkin piping

Guy,
We have several Munchkins installed and piped pumping-away (as is the latest mantra) with no apparent problems. However, Munchkin shows in all their schematics, the pump going to the return side of the boiler. Other than the pressure switch kicking out the burner on low pressure, is there any reason not to be pumping-away?
