Infrared thermostat

an infrared thermostat for work. We have a fairly large in-floor radiant system (Automotive repair facility) but we also use a waste oil scorched air system and it is over-riding the wall thermo that the installers used.

We'd like to install an infrared thermostat so we can monitor the floor temp instead of using the air temp.

Any suggestions will be welcome.

Thanks

Rob

    Get a Remote

bulb thermostat. It'll have a long capillary tube on it. place the bulb in the floor (drill a hole, do not puncture the heating piping). measure the floor temp that way. Another would be to get a Thermister elecrtonic thermostat. They come remote mount also. Very tiny heat sensing element, Wire it up a and place the sensor in the floor. Just make sure wherever you place the sensor, it is not directly in the blast of schourched air hitting the floor! bigugh

    Tekmar...

Tekmar makes a model 511 Thermostat with a floor sensor you could use in that application. Bury the sensor in the floor (but don't hit the tubes) and it will set the floor temperature where you want it.
