being produced by a boiler the less efficient it is. A condensing boiler running at 180 degrees is not much more efficient than a natural draft boiler right? When sizing a boiler what output should we consider. Especially if there will be times when we need 180 degree water. Certainly not the 90% of input rating.

My testing...
of my T-50 Muncher has shown it to be in the area of 88 to 92 % on high fire. On low fire during recovery, I've seen numbers as high as 99.6%.
Your mileage may vary...

Just kicked the Ultra up......
to 180 to see.... 174 supply.....156 return.....
vent temp. 166 running high fire...
once it starts to mod. back
180 supply...168 return....168 vent temp....
I'd like to see ANY CI boiler get anywhere close to that!!!
