Peerless Knocking

I have a customer with a Peerless L30 oil that when it is hot it knocks like it is producing steam in the top part of the boiler. This only happens at the end of the cycle then shuts down on high limit and then continues to knock for a period of time. ANY IDEAS?

Not Preferred Piping
Not hte ideal piping, but it does have a hyvent off the top of the boiler and an air scoop with another hyvent. It has six zone valves on the return and connected to one 0010 taco, and one other zone with its own 007 on the return. Still can't imagine the knock it sounds like a old car when you used to turn them off and they would diesel and run with a knock for a while after you turned off the key.0 -
