disposing of antique radiators

I have recently changed the heating system in my home and am left with 5 old water radiators. Does anyone know if they can be sold? Is there a market for antique radiators? If so, I would appreciate any information about how or to whom I might be able to sell them. Thanks!

If they are ornate, my wife wants them. Where are you located?0 -
Old iron rads are definitely in the "trash or treasure" category--though it does pain me when they're considered "trash".
It's all about finding a buyer who needs or wants them.
Scrap yards will always buy and as far as scrap iron goes, pay well.
There might be resellers in your area. They won't pay much and they'll certainly attempt to sell at a much higher price.
Generally, the more decorative varieties fetch a higher price as do those than can be sized (there will be rods running across with nuts on the ends).
Newspaper ad? Ebay? Front yard (too heavy for a casual thief)? Price to ask really depends on the radiator itself and your location.0 -
