Ceiling-mounted steam radiators

Has anyone seen these?

Steam is rare enough here in Southern California, but I've never heard of ceiling-mounted radiators.

Yet, that seems to be what was originally installed. There's a live supply & return that stub out of the coved ceiling into a large basement room in a 1913 house.

We're also looking to install replacements (these are missing), if anyone knows of a source for salvage (or new, if absolutely necessary).

Finally, we're looking for 5 additional wall-hanging "Peerless" 5 or 6 columned radiators. These should be easier to find. Any ideas?

Thanks,

Kevin

    They're up there

to be higher than the boiler's waterline. This was how they heated the floor that had the boiler when it was a gravity-return system.

Go to Hot Tech Topics and look under "Searching for Old Radiators?"

It pays to wander off the Wall.
    Retired and loving it.
