Line Voltage or 24V

Can anyone give me the relative advantages or disadvantages of using line voltage stats as opposed to 24 V in hydronics applications?

Thermostats
You have more models to choose from with low voltage stats. For instance, I don't think you can buy a programmable or setback line voltage stat.
Low voltage thermostats are also much safer and the wiring is easier to install (18 gauge vs. 14 gauge).

Safety and accuracy
You can hold a degree or 2 with a regular 24 volt stat. maybe 4 degrees with line voltage. 24 volt stats are class 2 wiring meaning if the wire is shorted it won't burn the house down. Line voltage stats require heavy stiff wire properly protected, still they work, most electric baseboard is line voltage.0 -
Line voltage thermostats are not as accurate as low voltage because the contacts on line voltage have to close hard to avoid arcing and burning the contacts, also you can get intlligent low voltage stats that are designed for
hydronic/radiant heating.
