The WESTERN border that is. Time for mid winter check of tarps, roofs and mouse poison.
30 and sunny. Perfect Colorado Winter:-)
The expansive mountain range is the Eagles Nest Gore Range primitive area.
Enjoy!

thanks
for the treat Mark. You are in a really great area (as if anyone needed to tell you that). Brings back nice memories of being in Colo. Spgs. last year for a training seminar hosted by the Colorado Springs Utility Co. Pikes Peak and Garden of the Gods and the other great sites. Truly wonderful places. But about that thin air...
The best to you.

Beautiful
Yep the country is superb. Spent a week in Denver and Colo Springs this August0 -
hey prof
looks beautiful. but mouse poison? see if you can find one of those super high decibel mouse/rat deterents. they just plug in and they DO work! After cooking a nest of the critters on one of our annual fishing trips, we told the proprietors, that if they didn't do something about the "problem" we wouldn't be back. well, being that the shack we stay in is "real country", and the owners only get up there now and again, you can imagine the quandry they were in. anywho, they ended up trying one of these gizmo's, and the place has been relatively mouse and turd free for three years now!

Leo.
I tried the environmentally correct thing to do for three years, to no avail. If it were just the mice turds it would be OK, except that THESE mice generate the Hanta Virus which is deadly, so I've resorted to deadly tactics.
Some times a mans gotta do what a mans gotta do. Heck, theres even a few farrel cats roaming the mountain top in search of tasty morsels...

For some fun....
If you really want to have fun, you can buy rubber bullets for .38/.357 cal pistols and shoot indoors for them! Its lots of fun and improves your aim drastically.

Is That Green Mountain Reservoir?
It looks like your summer cabin is in downtown Heeney, Colorado. Named after my grandfather Paul Revere Heeney, who owned much of the land that was covered by the reservoir when the Green Mountain Dam was built in the 1940's. My Dad helped build the dam. He along with his 3 brothers had all left the area by the late 40's. One sister still lives in Grandby, and one half-brother lives in Kremmling. I haven't been to Heeney for several years now but it's nice to see a few photos. Are they ever going to have the Heeney Tick Festival again? Heard there was some security concerns with it. You have a nice locale for your summer home, Mark!0 -
You've got it Clif...
They're building a new fire station near the INN, and once built I think you'll see the return of the Teeny Hick Festival. Do you have any pictures of the valley prior to inundation?
Here's a nice aerial view of the lake at the peak of the drought.
Thanks for checking in!

Harrisville, Michigan -- small resort town on the shores of Lake Huron in the upper portion of our beautiful lower peninsula.0 -
Laid back living
Best kept secret in Michigan:
Small resort town of Harrisville, located on the shores of beautiful Lake Huron, about three hours north of Detroit. Great scenery and great people -- some of the best vacation moments of my life.0
