and supposed to be 30 on Monday. Unfortunately, Monday's tearout had to be rescheduled to Wed because of a delivery problem. Wed is forecast to be back in single digits. Damn !
If only I had a power threader to do 2.5-4" of my own. Have to hire it out and am at their mercy. Maybe I'll get lucky.

at 9:00 this morning. Must have been near zero overnight. But the house is toasty warm, boiler is Burnhaming with a 150-degree supply temp and nice long cycles, TRVs are working, radiators glowing with warmth, and I just found out my fuel-oil budget payment is going DOWN by five bucks this year. Life is good.

What is -29C in Fahrenheit, Dan P ? Where are you located ?
I'm in western NY.

3 degrees
yesterday in Damascus, MD where I live. Got up and went out to breakfast at 6:30. Began getting no heat calls by the time I finished my home fries. Worked all day until the football games came on. Took a hot bath to thaw out and then put my toes up in front of the games. I'll be glad when this cold front passes. WW

Freezing, barely
It's a chilly 32* F here in Kodiak Alaska today. Sorry you guys are so cold; you should move to Alaska to warm up! My kids want me to build a snow cave/igloo but I'm afraid its going to melt.0 -
Damascus?
That's right down the road from me! You won't need a hotel room for Wetstock, eh?

is to come to Alaska. Someday....0 -
I'm only
45 minutes from BWI. I most likely will get a room just in case I imbibe a bit. See you there. WW

Don't wait
Too many people wait till their bodies are old and dicrepid and finally come in their wheelchairs dragging their oxygen tanks behind.
This is the most beautiful country in the nation (I've seen a lot of the nation). The biggest problem is that once you come up you won't want to go back. Even so, there are lots of high paying jobs up here and as much work as you could ever want.
Can you tell I like Alaska?
As an aside; I was visiting my wifes family in VA 2 years ago and took some work for 6 weeks on a Hampton Inn. When I interviewed with the owner of the 60+ employee company and told him how much I usually made (even my starting out wage as an apprentice), his jaw dropped and he told me he had never made close to that in his LIFE. He owned the company too! How sad. If you're going to work you might as well get paid real good for it.0
