Some pictures of a system I just fired off. This is a new 12 bath, 14,000 Square foot home overlooking the ocean in MA. We have 7 heat zones to 7 Hydro Air Sytems with 16 heat/cool zones as well as domestic hot water. The system has not been insulated yet but I thought I'd post a few pics anyway. Allot of the reason this system came out so nice is because of posts and pictures I've seen on this site. Allot of really good ideas I see and read about here all the time. Thanks too you all. Dana

Wow that looks great. If you had glass windows around that boiler room it would look like the training room at Viessmann. That one job to be proud of.

We usually tell the electricians not to run a switch down to the burner- the control already has a shut off- we've never had a complaint.

How did you stage the boilers? I didn't know you could stage 3 of them.

Those elec outlets facing the ceiling... is that OK?

I hope you can gat at the glass Oventrop bowls down the road, looks a little tight!

How's the draft? Did you bring in some mechanical air for combustion?

    Great job!

Gary, answers too your questions. The service switch you see at the boilers is Mass. Code. It simply powers a double plug mounted behind it to plug the boiler control package in as well as the domestic control package for each boiler/domestic hot waterheater which controls are mounted on the back of the boilers. We chose not to use the Tekmar for the domestic side of the system.
We used a Tekmar 268 controller with re-set for the heat side of the system. This Tekmar is able too control up to nine stages. We use it to start boiler pumps and boilers based on many different control strategies and set-ups thru the control itself and always , when we use Tekmar, once we have the correct program set-up, they are flawless. The trick with tekmar is understanding how to set them up. I don't understand the question about elec. outlets facing the cieling. If you mean the plugs on top of the boilers, it is not a problem.. The filter bowls are set so that they are easily serviceable. The boilers draft perfectly and yes we do have outside make-up air per Mass. Code. Thanks for the questions and the kind words. Any more questions fire away. dana

    Nice!!

    Nice looking project!!
Did you consider a Vertomat for this project? May have simplified three vs. one fully modulating appliance. Redundancy does have it's place, however.

Simple redundency, as you stated. The domestic on this system is way oversized but, we are working with a client who has made it very clear what the needs for entertaining/house guests, etc. may be and are willing to pay for all this overkill just in case. When I started the design end we did not have hydro-air, so we designed for the possibility of baseboard/radiators/radiant/hydro, etc. The other consideration was that, although this is a very large home, the room you see is the only mechanical room in the house, and it is very small considering the boilers, hot and cold water mains, elec. service and panels, emergency generator equipment, cable, computer cable, telepones, central vac. system, and many other systems that had too fit in this bedroom size room. dana
