I HAVE AN OLD VACUUM TYPE STEAM SYSTEM. THE RETURN ELBOW HAS A BALL CHECK IN IT. I NEED TO FIND A REPLACEMENT. ANY IDEAS WHERE I CAN GO?

Is that
a Richardson or O-E system? Have you seen any maker's names on it? Can you post some pictures?
The short answer is that you should be able to use a standard radiator trap there. But I'd want to know more about your system to be sure.
