Replacing radiator with baseboard

I just bought a home and its got steam heat with radiators. Since I have had no prior experience with radiators/steam heat etc. this might be a newbie question.
I am thinking of replacing the bulky radiators coils in some of the rooms with baseboard steam elements. My questions are:
1. Is this something I should NOT get into?
2. How expensive might this be? Most of the rooms are small to medium sized.
3. Is there any chance I could do this myself?
4. Anything I should particularly watch out for?
Thanks

You need to talk to Noel..
from SlantFin. You can find him on this board by searching for Noel. He'll tell you, among other things, that you need to replace all of the radiators with baseboard if thats what you want to do. I just had this conversation with him a couple of days ago. Really nice guy that LOVES steam!0
