Thoughts re the pumping away post

Thinking about issues such as the suggestion no circ be included with a boiler sale - either due to brand preference or sizing issues.
When we visited ISH in Germany last year, I was struck by the fact that most of the major players in the boiler market had the full monte - so to speak. If you bought their main product - the boiler - they had everything you could possibly want to complete any system - branded with their namer and color scheme. A one stop shopping experience, if you will. Beautifully simplistic and all of the pieces of the hydronic puzzle fit like a glove. They sell direct to the contractor over there, so there's one hell of an incentive to avoid having your customer needing to have their head turned by someone else offereing complete packages.
How sweet it would be if our pumps were self adjusting to the system's head and would call us by phone if there was a problem (as does Grundfoss overseas)and the remainder of products needed were available from a single source with all of the wiring and engineering already built into the line.
If we had a modulating boiler coupled up to a modulating pump and they "talked" to each other and had a phone line for us to sell remote monitoring - just like the burgular alarm companies do - I'd be as happy as a clam in mud(G).
We're so close.

I agree
with that pump concept. Seems the biggest question I hear, here, is. COST
Seems even the top German brand dealers are notching down their offerings a bit
Seems when the choice is top drawer or un-employment, other brands look better all the time
I don't know, I still like assembling the pieces of my choice. I have prefered brands and control stratigies I feel comfortable with, I'd hate to be placed in "their box" the way they see it, or no soup for you!
But I do like the adjustable pump. Their question remains "how many will you buy?"

Oops, wrong venue(G)!
Actually, it was Viessman where I was first introduced to the concept. They hosted our group (the Holohan led NAOHSM group where my underpants were hijacked - butt that's another story) and we slept at the Viessman School (I doubt the schtudents sleep in class - that in spite of having beer on tap in the dining hall). Great hosts BTW.
A factory tour followed the next day & Rich Thetheway showed up with his underpants stealing cohorts. Cheeky devil.
Then it was off to ISH where Bob Boltz and Dan took me (read - led me astray) to shop for new Cherman undergarments in a district known to be frequented by ladies of ill repute, thieves and hooligans during evening hours. I suppose that's to steal newly purchased leiderhosen? A recycling if you will. I was highly insulted by a German sales"lady" who sized me up all too quickly, which caused Holohan and Boltz to laugh themselves silly. But I digress.
Fascinated by this "whole ball of wax" approach to sales, I quickly caught onto the fact that Viessman was not alone in promoting unitary sales. Not that you can't pick and choose other components or simply build your own data-base of components based upon favorites - you can and that must be fairly common too as there were halles filled with goodies from folks like Danfoss for finite control of hydronic wonders.
I felt like a sugar junkie in a candy factory.
Later on - Dan, Judy and Bob stood by as a hostage negotiation swap took place on my hijacked undies.
