small scale radiant kit

Here is the smallest radiant heating kit I've seen so far.
Their site seems a bit more trustworthy than RadiantTec and the like.

Any thoughts?

    Liability

It looks like a law suit to me, mixes heating and domestic.
    I would not install it.

    Looks like

this company offers both open combined dhw, and radiant and closed stand alone versions.

Be nice to clear up the closed loop water heater issue. An AO Smith employee is on the RPA Water Heater Action Committee. She told me that using a water heater as a heat source for heat only, voids any warranty and is not ANSI listed for such a purpose.

I understand there are some combo units that pass codes, in some areas, but the ONLY approved method for hydronic use is combined DHW /Hydronic.

I suspect this is why the Canadian Standards only reconize water heater applications when they are combined DHW systems.

The State Appollo has been sold as a DHW/ hydronic system for years, and as I understand AO Smith, now the owner of State, this is the only tank they have listed for hydronic applications.

Be nice to clear this up. As I see it all those online companies offering water heater radiant only applications, are doing it against the manufactures listing. Wonder who assumes liability if this is in fact true?

Any WH manufactures care to weigh in??

    Compliant system...

I've seen the contractos answer to this dilemma, as it were. They go ahead and connect it to the potable water source without giving it any pressure reduction. They have a minimum of one tap for the "consumption" of domestic hot water. Hence it proves out as a DHW "system". In reeality, if operated as a closed loop system with very little actual "use" as DHW system, the water becomes water of "questionable character", and you can't drink water of questionable character. They're setting up their own little microbiological timebomb. Except it's "code approved".

Give me a break. What ever happened to common sense. Does it still not prevail?

Compliant, with a few letters scrambled, becomes complaint.

    NIMBY...
