Converted Gravity System

Gentlemen,
I looked at a job yesterday that perplexed me. It was a converted gravity system. There are two mains: Left side of house 2 1/2" main and return, Right side of the house 2" main and return. The system is a direct return layout. Both supplys are fed with 1 1/4" lines from the same size manifold. The returns are brought together into an 1 1/4" return. Each side has 2 radiators upstairs and three rads downstairs. Only the first upstairs rad on the left side heats. Even with all of the hand valves on the first floor rads closed, he can't get heat to any rad except that first rad. He has a 0011 pump on the return. Each rad has 6 - 3/4" elbows. He is going to put a series 100, as Dan suggests, in place of the 0011. Any other ideas? Thanks in advance!
