We just had a snow squall blow through here like a tornado complete with thunder and lightning!

Look out Vermont! It's heading your way!

    Yep

70 degrees and beautiful here Saturday, 4" of rain Sunday and 22 degrees for a high here today. Here's a photo I took this afternoon on the road we 'usually' take to town. I'm guessing 6' of water at the corner as the stop sign is completely submerged.... Been here 22 years and never seen it get past my neighbor's mailbox - can't wait till this mess freezes!!

I'm in beatutiful Vancouver, B.C. today

Here's a view from my hotel window. Snowing and they don't have many plows in this city.
    Retired and loving it.

Just when ya think it can't get worse.....

Was sharpening my skates last night about 9pm, when the power went off!!!

Went down to go skating this morning, you could see where the power company truck had been (Bless those fellas!!). Finally got it back on about 4am this morning...

Ironic, got the wood burner going but was concerned about pipes freezing in the basement/crawlspace sooooo, I went down to my shop cause I knew I had an 'unvented' kero heater buried somewhere. Used to use it to keep the 'parts' area from getting miserably cold, until I happened to think of 'testing' it. After I measured 500+ ppm's of CO coming off it, I quit using it.

It had sat unused for around 20 years, still had 1/4 tank of fuel but fired right up!!

Took it up to the basement, pulled up a chair and played around with it til 2am - was able to get it down to 175 but would run at over 1500 ppm at just about anything but full fire - with one of my CO-Experts monitors occasionally chirping in the background - it consistently read 25 to 30 ppm.

Went back up to the house and found the other monitor reading 0 sitting next to the lovely Andrea curled up asleep in front of the wood burner.

Did a flue gas test on the wood burner and finally got it adjusted down to 3200 ppms (at a 12% O2 (8.2% CO2), 8251 ppm CO air free, 650 stack temp and a 66.2% SSE...).

Miserable night but at least I had lots of test instruments to play with (and a couple of CO-Experts monitors to keep me from killing myself)!!
