Flue Size

I have a gravity hot water conversion system with the new boiler a Lennox (aka Dunkirk) GWB8-175E natural gas, nominal input 175 MBH. The vent pipe from the boiler to the chimney flue is 6" diameter, the chimney itself is 11" x 11" square clay tile with no liner, three stories straight up. The chimney is shared with a 40 gal nat. gas hot water heater. Is this OK or would it be better to have a smaller area chimney liner installed, and if so of what type? I expect to have the chimney top rebuilt next summer and would like to have all necessary work done at the same time. The tile liner looks to be in very good shape except for the very top section.

liner
Brian -It would be best to install the proper size liner for the appliance load.
Not to mention chimneys wear from the inside out. Best Wishes J.Lockard
