Got a call yesterday from a client who has a Voyager 1200 "something", boiler
He said the unit seemed to go into pre purge, but the ignition never happened. Not having any parts on the truck, I was thinking, maybe some of you guys have any feedback/habits of this thing? A while back I think there was a discussion..
Not much I could do, except offer electric heaters, everybody was shut down for the holiday..0 -
fairly easy
to troubleshoot. The digitalreadout tells what is going on. Sounds like an ignitor. May be able to match one at Johnstone Supply.
Depending on the age make sure you add an update kit to the burner. Boards go out ocassionally, blower motors after 5 of 6 years possibly, depending on cycles. Easy to work on!

follow up
called the client today. He found an ignitor in Utah, and had it overnighted. Changed it himself, and all is well. He is an electronics engineer, and we had a great conversation about PC board stress..
He is blown away by the Voyager's intelligent design and diagnostic capabilities!

Voyager igniter
Better suggest he get a spare. You can't get a generic replacment for that igniter. I have voyagers in commercial and residential applications so I try to keep 2 in stock.0
