I am the co-owner of an answering service that only works with companies within the HVAC/R industry. I was just curious if the concept of our specialty service is appealing.

Used to, but the quality of service kept going down as the cost went up. Used a local serice here that sold out to a Naitonal Co., and the rest is history. Enjoyed the service as the calls were all recorded and I could actually hear the conversation between our customer and the service..... Your idea is great if you can get good help and train them to treat each call as if the problem was in their own house...if this happened at home, how soon would I want to get someone to call me back or get over here? It's up to the customer to decide how critical the problem is, not the operator. Good luck, and if you bring your service to Maine, let me know.

Answering services
I was courted by a local answering service one time. Prior to me signing up with them THEY did two things to convince me not to use them. #1) They hired my (now ex)sister in-law. What a loony she was. And to think that she could be answering my phone????. #2) I called the salesman 2 times. 1st time I was on hold for over 4 minutes. That was bad enough, but the second time I was told he was on an important call and could not be disturbed. She never offered to take my name and number. The next time he called me I just told him how I was treated, on hold and his important call etc., He immediately blamed his help instead of himself, and never even appologized!. No I have found the best for me and it isn't an answering service.0
