CO speaker for ISH-NA
John R. Hall
Member Posts: 2,245
I have been asked to speak again at the ISA-NA Expo which will be in Boston this year on Oct. 14-16. I told the organizers that I would prefer to speak on poor school IAQ but that I can also talk on CO. I would like to find out if we can get one of the true experts on CO to speak there as I am only a journalist who delivers the message and don't experience it like you guys.
I'm sure I'd have no problem finding someone to speak on the topic, perhaps a panel of experts. I'd like to fly the idea by the Messe Frankfurt folks who sponsor ISH-NA. Any thoughts or volunteers?

got my vote......
Go get em' Rudy!!0 -
Jim Davis
No offense to Rudy, cause I don't know him. Jim Davis would open some eyes and ears.

Aaah shucks fellas!!
Thanks, guys. It's just that I'm an ol' country boy and driving around (especially) Boston scares me to death!! Been there several times and have spent hours wandering around lost - probably in some areas this ol' country boy shouldn't be in.....
But if John wants, I'll "do it for the gipper". Get in touch and we'll see if we can work it out (but ya gotta promise to pick me up and drive me around!!).

No offense taken
You are absolutely right Mark, he'd open up some eyes and ears - no doubt about that!!
I've known Jim personally for 20+ years - taught me most of what I know, helped me get the upper hand on a bunch of burners that were beating me up and a great personal friend to boot!!
(Plus, he's used to getting around the big city.)
Hey, and I'd look forward to meeting you some day - it's been an honor meeting some of the other wallies (like Murph and Gerry)!!0 -
there are things......
that I promised not to repeat, so I won't. (nah nah)
On the lighter side of bawston !!0 -
all i remember about boston,
was some jerk put circles of land in the middle of the darn road!!!!!how ya supposed to go anywhere if all the streets run into a piece of land in the road?????0 -
We like to drive in
circles up here. They are called a rotary, just something to confuse everyone. Some of them are going to be removed in the next few years.0 -
I am certainly not on the same
level as Jim Davis and Rudy but I would offer my services to hold their coats. I even know my way around Boston.
How about having someone who has lost a loved one to CO speak. I have been to some Mothers Against Drunk Driving conventions and it really has an impact.0 -
Let's see
Rudy, Jim & Timmie on the panel, moderated by Mark Hunt. WOW!0 -
Block busters...
ALL.
I'd be there in a heart beat, provided I'm not teaching an all day class.

My next question
Would all of you guys be willing to pay your own travel expenses to the show if we can get a free pass for you?0 -
My thoughts on this....
Why should these people be required to work for free? We're not talking about a volunteer organization here in ISH. They're not letting the public at large in for free.
Why should these guys be expected to come in and teach all the contractors who are going to learn how to use this to generate money for their companies, be expected to do it for free?
You get what you pay for. Make it a "Pay per View" seminar, then maybe toss in some "Discussion Panels" after the fact.
Just my $0.02 worth. I appreciate your trying to get it together John. I just think they should at least be properly compensated for travel, and hotel expenses.

I couldn't
agree more.Retired and loving it.0 -
I agree
with you guys but let's hear from the others who are involved. Like the old saying goes -- "don't shoot the messenger." Does anyone have Jim Davis' contact info?0 -

Looking good so far
Timmie is in. Hey Mark, got any plans for mid-October?0 -
I intend to be there....
in one capacity or another. The one capacity that may not work would be as an instructor for the RPA. We may have a confilict of dates and times. But if I'm available, I love to partake.

Sorry
I should have put an "H" after Mark. No offense to you ME, it's just that MH has initiated these CO threads time and again and I'd like to give him first crack at moderating a panel.0 -
Be careful
of what you ask for!
I asked for it, so how can I say no?
I'm in.

Party in watertown.....
@ Ed's place, I hope he has plenty of room for the skydivers to land!!0 -
Thanks for volunteering Ed!
That makes things a whole lot easier for Murph and me!
Usually there is a drawn out selection process we have to go through, but when you stepped up to the plate like that it cut hours off of the work that we have to do.
By the way, we STRONGLY recommend that you have a 200 amp service coming into your home.
No big deal if you do not currently have 200 amps, plenty of time for the upgrade!
Thanks again!
