Am I corrrect in assuming this is a dry base boiler with a wet back? How would you handle replacement of the combustion chamber? It is oil fired.
Thanks

Hi Robert, You sure found a fun one to work on You can still get the chamber for that I believe if not you can replace it with a quick fire equivalent. you'll need to remove the jacket and of course the burner then you'll see that the front section of the dry base comes off. Out with the old in with the new and don't forget the high temp silicone!
depending on how bad it is I would plan on spending a minimum of a half day there. That is including a full brush and vac that may as well be done while replacing the chamber.
Happy New Year Brother!

Combustion Chambers
for the Jubilee Series Boilers should still be available from Rex Roto Corporation. There are others that you may be able to adapt to fit, but Rex Roto's should be exact based on the model number. They also seem to be very heavy in comparison to other products. Hope this helps.

This is a wet base cast iron sectional boiler. Weights a ton. No problem, I think, to put a chamber in it, but you may find that the chamber volume is more than you really want or need with a modern burner. I did one with a moulded chamber sitting in the middle of the floor.
