Esbe Mixing Valve

Has decided to start making a noise when adjusting. It's only noticible when the burner nearby is not running. It makes a noise similar to water dripping at a frequency of about 1 sec. It sounds like plastic parts of the operator rubbing against each other.
Anybody ever seen (heard) this before?
We have used Esbe valves and operators MANY times and I have never heard this noise before. I haven't had the time to take it apart yet, I will probably go back to fool around with it next week.
Any ideas appreciated!
